SEQUABAT starts work on viaduc village in la cavalerie (Aveyron) with the first stone being laid

27 October 2017

SEQUABAT,  designer and builder of turnkey business, commercial and residential property, has just begun work on the construction of the new shopping village developed by the IDEC INVEST Group in La Cavalerie (Aveyron). This project, which measures almost 7000 m² aims to be home to around forty brands and will open its doors to the public in the summer of 2018.

SEQUABAT was alongside the IDEC INVEST Group for the ceremony of laying the first stone in La Cavalerie (Aveyron) for Viaduc Village, a new Outlet developed at the foot of the Millau Viaduct. This event brought together all those involved in the project and local elected representatives, as work begins on this new shopping village in the heart of the countryside.

A design to match the environment

Designed by the architect, Bertrand FAILLIE, Viaduc Village is inspired by the local landscapes with everything organised around a central walkway reminding us of the gorges, which are dotted around the Larzac region. The hanging baskets and three arches covered in copper also contribute to this atmosphere, while the posts that surround the various areas bring a touch of modernity.

Designed with BIM

The in-house design team at SEQUABAT carried out the design work for Viaduc Village using BIM. Starting with a 2D design, the architects at SEQUABAT transformed the project into a 3D model. This work made it easier to work on the design of this shopping village and to deal with the problems associated with the development of this type of project.

10 months of work to build Viaduc Village

The laying of the first stone on Thursday 19th October 2017 marked the start of work. The first stage involves the ground work and bulldozing 10,000 m3 of earth to deal with the nature of the plot. Special foundations will then be put in place with rigid inserts to strengthen the ground before work begins on setting up the concrete structure for the project.

The teams at SEQUABAT in charge of managing work at Viaduc Village will be kept busy for almost ten months before the property is handed over to the forty brands scheduled to set up here in the summer of 2018.
